The Takoma Park Lions Club is proud to announce its public safety award recipients for the year 2010.  From the Takoma Park Police Department Corporeal Michelle Holmes for her outstanding service in the area of traffic enforcement and from the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department EMT Jorge Alfaro for his many hours of dedicated service and commitment to the department and the community.   

Should you need assistance with an eye examination or in obtaining eye glasses please contact us.

The Takoma Park Lions Club collects used eyeglasses so that they may be recycled and provided to someone in need. If you have used prescription or nonprescription glasses or sunglasses in your drawers, desks, or cars, you can donate them now! Children’s glasses are especially needed. Donation boxes are located at the Firehouse, Library and Station One Restaurant.

• Lions Camp Merrick - summer camp for children with sight loss and diabetes

• Vision testing and eye glasses for the needy
• Leader eye dogs for the visually impaired/blind
• Used eye glasses and hearing aid collections
• Lions Vision Research Foundation -Wilmer Eye Institute
• Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department
• Takoma Park Annual Halloween Party
• Takoma Park Independence Day
• Takoma Park Recreation Department
• Annual Thanksgiving Dinners in association with the TPVFD
• Toys for Tots in association with the TPVFD
• 22-C Youth Band and Music Scholarship Program
• Annual Takoma Park Lions Police and Fire Awards Program
• Other District and International Programs
