The Takoma Park Lions Club is proud to announce its public safety award recipients for the year 2011. From the Takoma Park Police Department Officer Peter Marable for his outstanding service in the area of drug enforcement and community policing. The Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department was recognized for the outstanding patnership with the club and their service to the community. Fire Chief Thomas Musgrove accepted the award on behalf of the department.     

Should you need assistance with an eye examination or in obtaining eye glasses please contact us.

The Takoma Park Lions Club collects used eyeglasses so that they may be recycled and provided to someone in need. If you have used prescription or nonprescription glasses or sunglasses in your drawers, desks, or cars, you can donate them now! Children’s glasses are especially needed. Donation boxes are located at the Firehouse, Library and Station One Restaurant.

• Leader eye dogs for the visually impaired/blind
• Used eye glasses and hearing aid collections
• Lions Vision Research Foundation -Wilmer Eye Institute
• Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department
• Takoma Park Annual Halloween Party
• Takoma Park Independence Day
• Takoma Park Recreation Department
• Annual Thanksgiving Dinners in association with the TPVFD
• Toys for Tots in association with the TPVFD
• 22-C Youth Band and Music Scholarship Program
• Annual Takoma Park Lions Police and Fire Awards Program
